Thebandfromboston wins in Buffalo

In what was arguably the best race of the night, Thebandfromboston won the $8,500 featured trot in 2:03, for owners Foulk Brothers Inc. of Dover Delaware, here at Buffalo Raceway Friday night (January 25). It was the third win this season for the seven-year-old Boy Band-Pleasecometoboston mare.

Leaving from the far outside in the field of seven, driver Mark Beckwith settled in fourth as Keystone Fling (Kevin Cummings) cut all the fractions in the race, :30.2, 1:01.4, and 1:32.3. As the field hit the top of the stretch, Beckwith swung Thebandfromboston ($16.20) to the outside, and a :30 last quarter-mile put the winner a neck in front of second place finisher Fancy Foxy (Jim McNeight) at the finish line. Starbux Eden (John Cummings, Jr.) came in third.The $4,250 share of the winning purse put Thebandfromboston’s seasons earning $10,160, and $169,900 lifetime. It was her 26th win in 95 lifetime attempts.
