August 22, 2006 Send To A Friend  | Print View

The Double Dion and Yannick Gingras made quarter-pole move and held on to win a leg of the Pennsylvania Sire Stakes (PASS) for freshman pacing colts held Tuesday afternoon at Pocono Downs in a lifetime-best 1:53.1.

The Double Dion is a colt by Real Artist who is coming off a fifth-place finish in the Woodrow Wilson. He boasts three wins in six starts, including a win in a Reynolds division.

Kelvin Harrison owns, trains and bred The Double Dion, who is out of $200,000-winner Celine Dion and full brother to $300,000-winner The Real Dion.

Rustys Casino won his split going away in 1:53.2. Fresh off a Smullin win at Rosecroft, the $44,000 Western Hanover colt was driven by David Miller for trainer Steve LeBlanc and co-owners LeBlanc Racing Inc., Carter Racing Stable and Thomas Vine.

The Real Dan made a power move at the three-quarter pole and motored away to an open-lengths, 1:55.1 win in his PASS split. A $13,000 yearling by Real Artist, The Real Dan is trained and driven by Ray Paver for co-sponsors William Solomon and Edward Scanlon.
