The Meadows lifts quarantine

The Meadows has lifted its quarantine on 30 horses that were required to remain in their stalls for 21 days due to an isolated case of Equine Herpes.



"I'd like to thank the Pennsylvania State Harness Racing Commission, the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association, and the horsemen in dealing with this difficult issue," said The Meadows' assistant general manger Kevin Decker. "This is obviously an illness that should not be taken lightly. It has been a difficult period for everyone involved. Hopefully, this will be the end of it."



Throughout the 21-day quarantine, the horses that were in the affected area were not able to jog, train, or race. Now they may return to their normal training routine and resume racing.
