After being closed since Adios day while the grandstand was demolished to make way for a new grandstand, slots area and hotel, The Meadows will re-open Oct. 17 with an afternoon post time. Because the power source to the lights was removed due to the construction, the track will go to a 12:15 post time.
The simulcast area and other parts of the track are not affected by the power situation. Published reports also state that track officials are contemplating keeping afternoon racing and not returning to a night-time post. The track will race five days a week, with Friday and Sunday the dark days.
