Biggest Big Bertha scored her third straight victory in the $15,000 Fillies and Mares Open Handicap pace on Friday night at Tioga Downs. The mile of 1:53.2 was the fastest time posted in her three race winning streak for trainer Patty Harris. Bruce Clarke took over the driving on the 7-year old Little Steven mare for Todd Ratchford as he had one of his trainees in the event. Clarke sent Biggest Big Bertha from the eight hole and took control of the field past the three-eights mile pole. The duo were never in doubt the rest of the mile and tripped every timer en route to her forty first career victory. The “Big” mare has now banked over $233,000 lifetime for current owner Marilee Keene. Bruce Aldrich Jr. and Clarke each posted driving doubles on the night’s ten race card. (Tioga)
