Three straight for Wen-Mar's Memo at The Meadows

February 12, 2009 Send To A Friend  | Print View

Spring to the lead, back down the fractions, sprint home. Wen-Mar’s Memo has that formula down pat — she used it again Wednesday at The Meadows to capture her third consecutive race, the $25,000 Filly & Mare Preferred Trot.

Eric Ledford guided the 5-year-old daughter of Carry The Message-Lightly Sakra through a front half of :59. Although the sloppy surface took a heavy toll on most early speed over the 13-race card, Wen-Mar’s Memo clicked off the final half in :57, scoring easily in 1:56. Wizard Springs raced well first over to be second by 2-1/2 lengths while Lavec Dream rallied for show. Donnie Russell trains Wen-Mar’s Memo and owns with Edward Needle.
