Titans to meet in Classic

A match-up of Loyal Opposition and Rainbow Blue is guaranteed Monday, April 18, as only seven older mare pacers were entered into the opening round of the Classic Series scheduled for the five-eighths mile track in Delaware.



Defending older mare pacer divisional champ Loyal Opposition is riding a four-race win streak heading into the Classic, while 2004 Horse of the Year Rainbow Blue comes off an easy victory in an Invitational Pace at Dover Downs Monday, April 11.



In the draw for the $85,000 race, Loyal Opposition landed post seven while Rainbow Blue will leave from post six.



Twelve older horse trotters have been entered into the Classic, divided into two $60,000 divisions. Fool's Goal drew post four in the opening split while Don Boss Vita landed the two in the second division.



Nine older horse pacers will start at Dover Monday in their opening leg of the Classic, while 13 older mare trotters have been divided into two seven-horse fields.
