Tompkins-Geers to Takter

Return Home
July 20, 2007 Send To A Friend  | Print View

Jimmy Takter took the two divisions of the Tompkins-Geers two-year old filly trot with the Angus Hall filly Its My Time and the Striking Sahbra sired Beauty Queen.  The even-money favorite Its My Time won the second division in 2:01 after going three-wide around the first turn.  Perugia and driver Jim Marohn, Jr. finished second with Lakin Beau Bakin taking third.  This race marked the first official outing for Its My Time, who won both of her qualifiers, the last in 1:59.2.  Its My Time is owned by Christina Takter, John Fielding and the Free Money Stable.

Beauty Queen gave Takter his second win of the evening with a 2:01 win for owner Brittany Farms.  After leading to a :29.1 quarter, Beauty Queen gave way to Pose for Me and driver Jim Morril, Jr.  Just before the wire however, Beauty Queen regained the lead for her first lifetime win.

The flashy filly, Global Glamour took the first division of the Tompkins-Geers in 2:00.4 for driver Bruce Clarke.  The 1-4 race favorite Epangeline with Ray Schninittker up couldn’t hold on as the daughter of Like A Prayer went past.

Trained by Peter Foley, Global Glamour is owned by James McLaughlin and Lynne Foley.  This was her first win in two starts; her first start was in a Reynolds Stake at Pocono Downs on July 10th, where she finished second by a neck in 2:00.3.
