Tom Walsh Jr. dies

Tom Walsh Jr., who owned 1994 Little Brown Jug winner Magical Mike, '96 Jug winner Armbro Operative, and 1993 Adios champion Miles McCool, died Friday, Jan. 19, in Stuart, Fla., at the age of 78. Walsh was also a benefactor of the Delaware, Ohio, County Fair. He was a major contributor to build the Jug Barn and for many years sponsoring the Magical Mike Pace.

Walsh was a native of Long Island, New York, but had lived in Stuart for many years.

Walsh is survived by his wife, Gloria; two children, Rosellen Schnurr and Thomas J. Walsh III; nine grandchildren; and two sisters, Peggy Wagner and Linda Guida.

Funeral services for Walsh were held Monday, Jan. 22, at St. Dominic Roman Catholic Chapel in Oyster Bay, N.Y.

Memorial donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International, LI Chapter, 532 Broadhollow Rd., Suite 118, Melville, NY 11747.
