Miss Garland, the dam of 2005 Hambletonian winner Vivid Photo, and Ohyouprettything, the mother of freshman pacer standout Jereme's Jet, have been selected respectively as the Trotting Broodmare of the Year and Pacing Broodmare of the Year in balloting by the membership of the U.S. Harness Writers Association.

Miss Garland is a 15-year-old daughter of Garland Lobell out of the Lindy's Crown mare Scenic Dolly. Her 2002 foal Vivid Photo certainly did make a vivid impression on harness racing in the past year, winning the Hambletonian, World Trotting Derby, 16 starts, and over $1.4 million in a stellar campaign. Miss Garland was herself bred by Gerard Moquin of Quebec, and her current owner is Winbak Farms of Maryland.

Ohyouprettything is an 11-year-old daughter of Sportsmaster out of the Race Time mare Available To Race. Her 2003 foal, Jereme's Jet, only made seven starts in 2005, but he still accounted for three of the major freshman stakes--the Metro, the Governor's Cup, and the Breeders Crown--en route to just over $1 million in earnings and a mark of 1:50.4. His full brother, the 4-year-old Western Hanover gelding Ohubetterbelieveit, also added to his dam's luster by taking a 2005 mark of 1:48.4. Ohyouprettything was bred by Fox Valley Standardbreds of Illinois and is presently owned by the famed Hanover Shoe Farms of Pennsylvania.

The connections of Miss Garland and Ohyouprettything will be honored at the Night of Stars banquet on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, during the Harness Racing Congress being held that entire week.
