Armbro Damien, Sandro Hanover and True North Hanover will head up a field of talented 3-year-old colts and geldings in Friday afternoon’s four divisions of the Pennsylvania Sire Stakes.

Dave Palone will be in the sulky with Armbro Damien, a winner of six of 12 starts this season with a second and three third-place finishes. Robert McIntosh trains the Western Hanover colt that has won five straight races, including a 1:50.4 victory in the Sire Stakes at The Meadows May 27. A $90,000 yearling, Armbro Damien is out of Jugette winner Armbro Romance (Artsplace).

Armbro Damien has drawn the five hole for the race carrying a purse of $25,690 while Sandro Hanover, with Mike Wilder in the bike, will be in the same division and leaving from the four post.

Sandro Hanover, trained by Michael Burke, recently finished second to Armbro Damien in a division of the Keystone Classic at The Meadows, pacing the mile in 1:51.1 and losing by three-quarters of a length. Wilder will be driving Sandro Hanover, whose only win in six tries was a 1:52 mile in a Max C. Hempt Memorial Pace elimination race at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs May 13. Sandro Hanover was a $25,000 yearling purchase.

Meanwhile, True North Hanover, also a victor in a Hempt elimination race with a 1:52.3 time on a track rated “good”, will have the six post in the fourth division of the Sire Stakes Friday afternoon at the Northeastern Pennsylvania racetrack.

True North Hanover was second to Armbro Damien in a Sire Stakes event at The Meadows, also losing by three-quarters of a length with a time of 1:51. True North Hanover was second in the Hempt finals at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs, losing to Tuffofthetoughest (Ray Schnittker, by a half-length with a time of 1:50.2.

Burke also trains True North Hanover, who will have Wilder in the sulky. True North Hanover was a $27,000 yearling out of millionaire mare Tricky Tooshie (Rumpus Hanover).
