Torcello named Chester super

Mike Torcello has been hired as the track superintendent at Harrah’s Chester Casino & Racetrack, it has been announced by Harrah’s officials. Torcello will oversee the daily maintenance of Harrah’s Chester’s new, five-eighths mile, stone dust oval, which will host live racing for the first time on September 10.

Torcello comes to Harrah’s Chester after a lengthy tenure as the track superintendent at Batavia Raceway, where he began his career in 1972. He has also served as the track superintendent at Buffalo Raceway, and drove and trained Standardbred racehorses for a brief period of time.
