Total Truth heads to Australia

August 26, 2009 Send To A Friend  | Print View

Trainer George Teague, Jr. confirmed to harnessracing.com Wednesday that Total Truth will soon begin a career at stud in Australia. The 6-year-old son of Jenna’s Beach Boy-Babe Ruthless won 18 races in his career and over $2 million. The majority of his bankroll was earned during a 2006 sophomore season that saw him win the Burlington, North America Cup, Hoosier Cup, Cane Pace and Progress Pace on his way to divisional honors as well as Pacer of the Year, but he took his mark of 1:48.3 in 2007 as a 4 year old. He raced with success in the open ranks last year, but this year raced three times with one third place finish.

“I tried him a few times this year. He just didn’t seem to have the go anymore,” said Teague. “So I thought this would be the best thing for him. John Curtin made the arrangements.”

Teague said the current owners--Only Money Inc, Teague and Ted Gewertz--will retain ownership while leasing the stallion for breeding. He added that Total Truth is currently in quarantine and will stand at The Stallion Station in the state of Victoria and is now in quarantine. He added that he hopes to also find a home for Total Truth in North America so he can service mares both in the US and Canada.
