Total Truth won the $300,000 Cane Pace at Freehold Raceway Monday afternoon, holding off the first-over bid of Took Hanover in 1:51.3. Dave Panlone got up for third.

Total Truth, driven by Ron Pierce, took command of the race at the start and was never headed through fractions of :26.4, :55.4 and 1:23.2. John Campbell was flushed first-over move with Took Hanover with about five-eighths of a mile remaining. Took Hanover battled Total Truth valiantly, but couldn’t overtake his foe.

Earlier this year Total Truth captured the million-dollar North America Cup at Woodbine and the Hoosier Cup at Hoosier Park. George Teague Jr. trains Total Truth and co-owns him in partnership with the Only Money Stable.
