Brad Hanners moved favored Touchdown Franco to the top at the half and then held off the pocket-sitting Y-Dat to win the fastest of two $39,123 Standardbred divisions for 2-year-old colt and gelding trotters at the Delaware, Ohio fairgrounds Thursday afternoon in 1:58.3.

Y-Dat and John Campbell wrestled the lead coming out of the first turn from the Dave Palone-driven Up Front Prayer, and then Hanners sent Touchdown Franco to the front to lead the rest of the distance. Up Front Prayer held on to third.

A son of Like A Prayer, Touchdown Franco is trained by Jeff Smith for owners Terry and Cynthia Kinsley. After finishing second his first five career starts at The Red Mile, Touchdown Franco has now won two straight to send his earnings past the $110,000 mark.

The first division went to Motor Inn and driver Ron Pierce in 2:01.4. Photoforwin was second for Rick Beinhauer, with Sports Star K and Charlie Norris third.

A son of Like A Prayer, Motor Inn is trained by Bobby Brower for owner DM Stables. The recent fourth-place finisher in the $300,000 Kentucky Sire Stakes final at The Red Mile, Motor Inn has more than $75,000 in earnings.
