The moving of Monticello Raceway got one step closer Tuesday night after the council of the town of Thompson unanimously approved an amendment to a developer's plans that will lead to the immediate destruction of the famed Concord Hotel that currently sites on the site. Construction workers will reportedly begin tearing down the hotel on Monday, April 28, with the process taking approximately 75 days to complete.
Developer Louis Cappelli's plans are for a $1 billion multi-entertainment complex, including the building of a new Monticello Raceway.
