December 28, 2005 Send To A Friend  | Print View

Toy Dragon took the lead at the start and was never headed en route to a 1:52.1 victory in the featured $24,000 Open Handicap Pace for fillies and mares Tuesday at Dover Downs.

Driver Steve Warrington left fast with the 4-year-old daughter of Dragon's Lair, taking the lead in the first turn. Toy Dragon then rebuffed a first-over challenge by Pacific Illusion (Brandon Givens) at the three-quarters, pulling away to an easy win with a :28.1 final quarter. Pacific Illusion held for second with Apache Dame (Tony Morgan) third.

Owned by Joe and JoAnn Thomson, Toy Dragon won for the 11th time in 29 starts this year to increase her seasonal earnings to more than $105,000.
