Trepid Water is a perfect four-for-four to start the season after Tuesday's 1:54.1win in the $61,000 Ontario Sires Spring Series final at Woodbine.

The 3-year-old daughter of Intrepid Seelster–Water Spigot, who posted 1:51.4 and 1:53.1 wins in the preliminary legs of the series, had things her own way from start to finish. Driver Rick Zeron had the homebred looping up to take the lead through the opening quarter in :27.1 before stealing a major breather to the :57.1 half mile. The filly picked up her tempo to the three-quarter pole in 1:25.4 and then sealed the deal with a final quarter in :28.2. In Trepid Water prevailed by 1 3/4-lengths over stablemate Highly Charged with Luxury Seelster 2 1/4-lenghts back in third.

With the victory In Trepid Water is five for six in her career with a bankroll of $58,714 for the partnership of the Robert McIntosh Stables Inc. and the C S X Stables.

For trainer Bob McIntosh it was the second stakes victory of the season on the WEG circuit. He also won this year's Diplomat Series with Armbro Damien.

Zeron is a five-time series winner on the WEG circuit this season. In addition to tonight's O.S.S.S. final, he also staked claim to the Glorys Comet Trotting Series with Stiletto, the Cam Fella Pacing Series with Paragon, the Silver Reign with Snowhite Beach and The Diplomat with Armbro Damien.
