Favorites swept all three divisions in the second leg of Indiana Sires Stakes action for freshman pacing colts Friday, August 8 at Indiana Downs. Trace Tetrick reined in two of the three winners in the $15,000 contests, steering Mystical Valentine to a 1:56.4 victory before guiding Suprizemeagain to a 1:53.1 score. Rob V captured the other split in 1:55.2.

Mystical Valentine and Tetrick raced from off the pace early in the first ISS division before rolling on to their second victory of the season. The Mystical Marker Farms entry advanced to second at the head of the stretch and paced home in :28 to claim victory for trainer Erv Miller. The gelded son of Dream Work finished a length and a half in front of Indy’s Z Tam (Dontgetinmyway). King Me (Dontgetinmyway) raced third.

In the second $15,000 split, Rob V and Brad Hanners posted a :27.2 final panel and passed third-choice Hawk’s Copperstone (Allamerican Theory) in the stretch to collect their first victory. The Steve Brannan owned and trained Electric Yankee gelding has yet to finish off the board in three career starts. Electric Tom Boy (Electric Yankee) finished third for driver Mark O’Mara.

Suprizemeagain, whose undefeated streak was snapped with a second-place finish in a division of The Elevation, returned to the winner’s circle Friday night with an open lengths romp in the final ISS contest. With Tetrick in the bike for trainer Shawn Nessa, the Western Hero colt took control racing to the half and romped by nearly 10 lengths. Fellow Western Hero freshman Star City Hero was a distant second while Dean M (Electric Yankee) rounded out the trifecta. The victory was the fifth in six starts for Suprizemeagain, a winner of more than $54,000 this season.
