Trots and Slots series begins at Pompano

Cisco Hall ($13.20) scored his second win of the season and a new lifetime mark of 1:55.2 in the $20,000 first leg, first division of the Trots and Slots late-closer series on Monday night at the Isle Pompano Park.

Driver Richard Simard and Cisco Hall took full advantage of the early lead when favorite Tweedle Dum (Wally Ross Jr.) made a costly break leaving from post four. Simard took the field of top trotters through fractions of :28.2, :58, and 1:26.2. As they trotted down the homestretch Bruce Ranger and Too Salty challenged Cisco Hall but was unable to get by and had to take the second spot with Indian Hill Rocket (Kevin Wallis) finishing third.

Cisco Hall, a 7-year-old Conway Hall stallion, has now bankrolled more than $277,000 for trainer Bill Gallagher and owner Joe Chnapko.

Dave Ingraham and Slave Dream ($5) captured the second $20,000 division of the Trots and Slots in 1:55.4.

Driver Bruce Ranger and O-Georgie commanded the field of trotters in fractions of :28.3, :58.2, and 1:26.4. As the field turned for home Ingraham fanned four wide to win it all by two lengths over Farmer Jones (Wallis) and Baseball Express (Mike Deters).

It was the second win of the season in five starts for the 4-year-old Pearsall Hanover gelding, pushing his earnings over $140,000. Slave Dream is trained by Jean Beaulieu and owned by Franco Cianci, Isidoro Russo and Vincenzo Monticciolo. (Pompano Park)
