Cool weather has been hanging around the Sunshine State but driver Andy Santeramo and EW Royal Pain turned up the heat in Pompano Park's Wednesday night's $12,500 claiming trot for a purse of $7,300 to win in 1:59.4 with a payoff of $42.40. Doc’s All Class and Bruce Ranger were quickest off the gate to command the trotters through fractions of .29.2, 1:00 and 1:29.3. Santeramo and EW Royal Pain were sitting fourth parked two wide at the three quarters. As the field made its final turn down the stretch Doc’s All Class made a costly break. EW Royal Pain fanned four wide to win by a half length. The 5-year-old Nervey’s Royal is trained and owned by Andre Viens of Pompano Beach. Amazing Hanover (Kevin Wallis) finished second with Blue Ribbon Beauty (David Ingraham finishing third. (Pompano Park)
