Trotters face off at Balmoral

Return Home
February 08, 2006 | Print View

Twelve trotters took to the track Tuesday night in the Self Possessed Trotting Series at Balmoral, with Primrose Princess (1:59) and Four Starz Casino (2:00.4) taking the first two legs.

In the first division, Primrose Princess (Mike Oosting) charged out of the garden spot and collared Van Joe (Andy Miller) in the stretch to win by 2 ½ lengths. Dabra (Roger Welch) came on strong for second with Van Joe third.

Primrose Princess is owned by Irene Mapes and trained by Joe Mapes.

In the second division, Four Starz Casino (shown with driver Tim Tetrick) was much the best, leading wire to wire for owner-trainer Jim Eaton and owners Robert Silberburg and Redbud Stable. BC's Legend (Dirk Simpson) held on for second while Crowning Catch (Matt Rheinheimer) took third.
