Mya Tri trotted away from the field in a $12,000 Indiana Sires Stakes contest for freshman fillies Thursday, winning for trainer Sara Haynes by 12 lengths. With Walter Haynes Jr. in the bike, the Pining Fora Tri two year old completed the circuit in 1:59.

Co-owned by the driver and breeder Bob Wientjes, Mya Tri is undefeated in five career starts. After racing third at the three-quarter pole (1:29.3) the trotter posted a final panel of :28.3 to storm home. With the victory in the non-betting event, Mya Tri lowered her lifetime best by three seconds.

In the second $12,000 split Deputy Julianna won by five and one-half lengths for owner and trainer Doug Siefert. The favorite stopped the clock in 2:01.3, and was driven to victory by Mike Hollenback. It was the fourth seasonal victory for Deputy Julianna and first in sires stakes action.

A head behind Super Discipline at the top of the stretch, Ricky Macomber Jr. and Dr Potts were able to grind out a narrow victory in the $12,000 second leg of ISS competition for sophomore colt trotters Thursday. With a :29.1 last quarter Macomber placed the Virgil Morgan trainee in front by a neck in 1:57.4. Favorite JSC Merit Raise finished third.

One week after finishing a distant eighth in the first round, Dr Potts returned to add his seventh win of the season. The winning time fell one-fifth of a second off his lifetime best mark. The sophomore has won just short of $50,000 this season.
