Trotting mare doesn't miss a "Beat"

Beatgoeson Hanover delivered a two-length score in the lone $40,000US Breeders Crown elimination for older trotting mares on Saturday night at Woodbine. The draw for the race was held and Beatgoeson Hanover will start from post two in the final while defending champion Frenchfrysnvinegar drew post eight.

The Richard �Nifty' Norman trainee and driver Brian Sears, who picked up the live catch-drive when Jim Morrill Jr. booked off, got away fourth behind Oh Sweet Baby (Mario Baillargeon), who cut the opening panel in :27.3. Into the backstretch, Beatgoeson Hanover was on the attack, clearing past the half in :57.2.

After the even-money favorite cut the three-quarters in 1:24.4, the four-year-old mare was untouchable, stopping the teletimer in 1:54. A late-rallying Autumn Escapade (Dave Miller) and Mystical Starlight (Tim Tetrick) got up for second and third, respectively.

Beatgoeson Hanover, a daughter of Andover Hall-Beat The Wheel, notched her sixth win of the year and 19th lifetime. The trotting lass now boasts career earnings of $954,259 for owner Neven Botica. Beatgoeson Hanover returned $4.20 to win.

With Cedar Dove, Frenchfrysnvinegar and Pembroke Heat Wave accepting byes, the top seven finishers advanced to the $250,000 divisional championship.
