Try Kacy N, who became the richest 14 year old ever in his last start, added to that total Thursday night at Dover Downs while winning a $5,500 contest. Driven by Jim Morand, Try Kacy N won in 1:58.2 to increase his 2005 earnings to $66,050, the most ever earned by a 14 year old in a single season.

A son of Silk Legacy, the New Zealand-bred Try Kacy N was claimed by longtime trainer Arthur Brewer II in November of 2003 for $15,000. His win Thursday was his 18th in 32 starts this year, increasing his career bankroll past the quarter-million-dollar mark.

Try Kacy N became the fastest 13 year old in history when he won in a career-best 1:51.4 last year at Rockingham Park. A 1:53.2 victory earlier this year at Rockingham tied the speed mark for 14 year olds. With U.S. Trotting Association rules mandating the horses cannot race after they turn 15, Try Kacy N is in the final weeks of his standout racing career.
