Poppy Lustre N made it to the winner's circle after a four-wide drive down the stretch to post a 1:52 victory in the $24,000 Filly and Mare Open Pace Tuesday at Dover Downs. Tim Tetrick won four races, Ross Wolfenden and Brad Hanners drove three winners each, and Tony Morgan had a double.

As a fast field of eight female pacers began to fan out in the stretch, Tetrick found room after being hopelessly locked in, and then sped to the outside and motored past her rivals for an easy victory, her 12th of the season. The Direct Flight 5 year old is owned by Wayne Pryor and Wendy Crissman of Camden, Del.

Badlands Iron Lady, with Hall of Famer Ron Pierce driving, looked like she was in command until the final strides and had to settle for second. Shake Away and Jim King were racing last until reaching the lane when she was able to close along the passing lane and take the check for third.

In the $20,000 Filly and Mare Jr. Open, Steve Warrington pulled Dance Hall out of second at the head of the lane and dashed past leader Ain't Goin Back (Ben Stafford Jr.) to race down the stretch for a 1:54.4 conquest, her 12th win of the season and second in three trips.

A 51-1 shot, Seamstresforthepan, starting from post eight, rolled home to finish second for Eddie Davis. Casino Bus and Morgan were third.

Don Hawk, John Hynansky and trainer Dan Warrington own the winning Blissfull Hall 4 year old. Dance Hall has now won $85,475 this year.

The Bettor's Delight filly Binions, owned by Newman Racing Stable, was at her best in the $15,500 Filly and Mare pace as Jim Morand pulled away in the stretch for a career best 1:52.2 triumph. Boca Hanover (Pierce) raced well to finish second ending a two-race win streak. Carousel Frame (Stafford) was third.

Hogan Hylight, owned by Rodney Long and Tim Hundertpfund, became Wolfenden's third winner of the day taking a 1:55 score in a $20,000 claiming allowance. Fox Valley Emerald (Morgan) and Space Racer (Pierce) were second and third, respectively.

Scott Dillon's Artchie Andrews was strongest in the stretch while besting seven other in 1:52.2 to win a $14,000 horse and gelding pace. Stringtowner (Hanners) was a close second. Ima Prince Too (Morgan) was the show finisher.

Hanners and Charles Miller's Ohio-bred Tawny scored a 1:53.4 win in a $10,000 pace for females. West Coast Arturo (Pierce) was runner-up with Mapua Magic N (Morgan) a fast-closing third. (Dover Downs)
