The undefeated Tug River Princess turned in another flawless effort Saturday night in the fastest of four $35,000 Fan Hanover Stakes eliminations for three-year-old pacing fillies when she stopped the clock in 1:51.1. The other winners included O’Brien Award winner A And Gs Confusion (1:51.2), Artimittateslife (1:52) and Has An Attitude (1:52). Tug River Princess, who had not raced since capturing the Blossom Series Final at The Meadowlands on April 16, worked out a perfect second-over trip for driver John Campbell and then fired home to win by 3-1/2 lengths over Cuz She Can and Im Just Special. The Darren McCall trainee is now perfect in eight starts this season and 13 lifetime for the Let It Ride Stables Inc., Robert Cooper Stables and Jerry Silva. She is inching in on the $200,000 mark in career earnings. A And Gs Confusion was let go at odds of 6-1 in her elimination after a lacklustre effort in her first start of the season in an overnight event at Vernon Downs. On Saturday, David Miller got her away fourth in the field and then made a power move to the front approaching to the half. From there, she cruised to an easy 1-3/4 length tally over Sprig Hanover and Thong. The daughter of Allamerican Native was a five-time winner in 10 starts last season for trainer Mark Capone and the A And G Stables of Bronx, NY. She ended her rookie campaign with $823,463 in the bank. In the third elimination, the Robert Young-trained Artimittateslife made an eye-catching three-wide move on the last turn and was able to sustain her momentum in the stretch to win over the pacesetting A Fiesty Affair with Cruzin Inya Jammys rallying for the show spot. The Art Major filly improved her record to two wins in four starts this season for Young who co-owns along with Paul Gazzola and Brian Barton of Ontario. As a rookie, she earned just shy of $100,000 while competing primarily in the New York Sires Stakes program. The final elimination produced a very close three-way photo and it was Has An Attitude and driver Jason Brewer scoring from off-the-pace to win by a quarter of a length over Up Front Bethann and a closing Chancey Lady. The daughter of No Pan Intended, trained by Erv Miller, notched her seventh win of the campaign in eight starts in the process for Brittany Farms of Versailles, KY. The top two finishers in each split, plus two finishers drawn by lot advanced to next Saturday night’s $733,031 final. The two lucky entrants who drew in were Chancey Lady and Cruzin Inya Jammys. Here’s a look at the field in post position order: 1. Tug River Princess GOODTIMES ELIMS TO MOON DREAMER, CLERK MAGISTRATE Jack Moiseyev guided the son of Dream Vacation to the neck win for trainer Anders Wolden and German owner Norbert Hassen in 1:54.3. O U Gus and Superfast Stuart also make next Saturday’s $279,786 final, as the top five finishers from each division earn a berth. Moon Dreamer paid $5.80 to win. Clerk Magistrate ($34.20) rocked the toteboard in the second Goodtimes elim, upsetting odds-on choice Windsong Espoir. Trevor Ritchie drove the Andover Hall colt to the three-quarters of a length victory for trainer Per Henriksen and Asa Farms of Norwood, in 1:54.1. Also making the final are Don Giovanni, Guida Muscle and Wildcat Shoes. (WEG)
