Tug River Princess captured the $253,400 Nadia Lobell at The Red Mile Sunday night, picking up her 10th victory in 14 starts this year and earning a lifetime mark of 1:50. She was making her first start since winning the Valley Forge at Harrah's Chester on Aug. 17.
Driver John Campbell started from post three with Tug River Princess but elected to settle off the pace. The first quarter was passed in :27.2, and just before the half time flashed :55.3, Campbell tipped to the outside and followed the cover of Pasta Lavista, who had begun to range up first-over against the leading Btwnyurheartnmine.
Tug River Princess enjoyed a perect second-over trip to the top of the homestretch when Campbell swung three wide. Tug River Princess, a daughter of Badlands Hanover, sprinted away to win by 1 1/2 lengths, with Btwnyurheartnmine, driven by Ron Pierce, holding on for second. Good News Lady, who was third-over in the last turn, got up for third.
