Turn The Tide p,3, 1:53.2 ($860,993), a top stakes performer of her era who went on to produce the winners of more than $2 million, died Saturday (Feb. 11) at Walnut Hall Stock Farm in Lexington, Ky., her home for the past 20 years. She was bought by Walnut Hall Stock Farm owners Katherine and Dr. James Sautter in the fall of 1990. The daughter of Albatross-Pretty Tricky (by Overtrick) was officially 32 using Jan. 1, the universal birthday for horses, but was actually born in May.
Bred by Timothy Rooney, Turn The Tide was the dam of 17 foals and 13 starters, with her best her son Shore Patrol p,2, 1:53.4 ($1.1 million).
