Tweedle Dum Goes for sixth

Almost as predictable as the daily rain storms during the summer in south Florida, track record holder Tweedle Dum heads the Preferred-Handicap Trot at Pompano Park Harness Track tonight.

The 6-year-old gelding goes for his sixth straight win from post six in the first-race feature for driver Walter Ross, Jr. Tweedle Dum is the winningest horse this year at Pompano Park with 10 victories for owners Diane Norris and Alfred Brotter of Pompano Beach.

The overwhelming 3/5 morning live favorite, Tweedle Dum was at his best last week, leading from the opening quarter mile and winning by 1 3/4 lengths in 1:54.2. Also almost as predictable is his main rival, Ultimate Sundance, who has been second to Tweedle Dum the last five times they have faced each other. The last time that Ultimate Sundance was able to defeat Tweedle Dum was April 10, and that victory was only by a neck. Ultimate Sundance starts from post five for driver Bruce Ranger.

Also entered is U Toe The Bike, who last week closed from last place in the backstretch, sweeping three-wide around the final turn and winning by a nose at 45-1 odds.
