Twist N Clout won her second straight race Wednesday night at the Meadowlands, capturing the fastest of two $46,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes divisions for 2-year-old filly pacers with a 1:54 effort for driver John Campbell. Campbell moved Twist N Clout from third to first approaching the half and from there she was on cruise control as she defeated runner-up Fancy Pants Sandy and driver David Miller by 2 ½ lengths. Trained by Joe Holloway, the winning daughter of Western Ideal out of the 2003 Three Diamonds runner-up Economic Clout is owned by Val D’Or Farms. Cammy’s Heart took the other NJSS freshman filly pacing division with a hard-fought 1:55.1 decision for driver Tim Tetrick, who was able to rally his charge despite some interference caused by a breaking horse in the final turn. Cammy’s Heart’s charge was just enough to get her to the wire a nose in front of Jkmusicofthenite and driver Yannick Gingras. Mark Silva trains and co-owns Cammy’s Heart with Munificent Mole Stable LLC. A daughter of I Wanted Wings rallied down the stretch for This was the pari-mutuel debut for I Wanted Wings, who is trained by Ross Croghan for Let It Ride Stables and Robert Cooper Stables. I Wanted Wings is a daughter of Muscles Yankee out of the mare Veronica Lake, she a half sister to the multiple-stakes performer Mister Goal and the 1996 Hambletonian Oaks runner-up Miss Goal. Jan Johnson directed Margarita Momma to a 1:58.2 victory in the $27,200 second division for juvenile filly trotters. Sitting a pocket trip through the final turn, Margarita Momma drew clear down the stretch to win by 3 ¾ lengths over the Campbell-driven Rapsong. Johnson trains and shares ownership of the Yankee Glide filly with Jorgen Jahre Jr. The win was her first in two career attempts. Celebrity Athena took the third $27,700 division with a 1:59 effort, closing out her mile with an impressive final quarter of :27.3 for driver Brian Sears. Celebrity Athena defeated Gabby’s Dream and driver Ron Pierce by three-quarters of a length. Staffin Lind trains the winning daughter of Yankee Glide-Show Me Leg for owner Celebrity Farms. This was her first pari-mutuel start after four baby races.
