Won The West and Takeshigemichi captured the two divisions of the Cleveland Classic Saturday night at Hot Rod Mindale, who raced parked and wide for much of the mile, held on for second while Quandary Won The West now has nine wins in 14 starts this season. Mickey Burke trains the winner for the Strollin Stable, William Robinson and James Koehler. Takeshigemichi, who was nosed out at the wire in the Max Hempt Memorial and then choked down in the $1 million Art Rooney Pace final, finally picked up his first stakes win of the season with his score in the second $87,600 Cleveland Classic split. Trained by Tony Mannino, Takeshigemichi is a son of The Panderosa and is owned by the Lightning Stable. Big Al’s Delight, also trained by Burke, finished second while Home Bed Advantage got stuck racing first-over for part of the mile but managed to take third.
