Two hot number at YR

January 30, 2007 Send To A Friend  | Print View

If you're number two you're supposed to try harder and, sure enough, those saddle pads tried the hardest Monday night at Yonkers Raceway as five "two horses"--all in succession--found the winner's circle during the 10-race program.

Odds-on favorite Ketystone Rideau ($2.60) and leading driver Stephane Bouchard began the tours of two's, winning the $6,000, fourth-race pace. Bouchard and even-money Marquee T ($4.10) took the $5,000, fifth-race trot, while longshot Willowbee Magic (Mark Beckwith) was anything but a terrible two, rolling off cover in the $5,000, sixth-race pace at a not-too-shabby $34.60 mutuel.

Rythmsgonnagetcha and escort Eric Abbatiello captured the $5,000, seventh-race pace, returning $11.80 and wrapping a $1,580, Room 222 Pick 3. Last Resort ($20) and Mike Forte was the deuce caboose, bringing up the rear as the fifth consecutive number two to win.

Sometimes, the game is just too easy...or maybe not. (Yonkers)
