Tweedle Dum, fresh off his all-age track equaling performance of the previous week, had little trouble once again wiring the field in 1:54.3 in the $9,000 Preferred-Handicap Trot Wednesday night at Pompano Park.

There were three quick lead changes by the opening quarter mile in :27.4 as driver Walter Ross Jr. had Tweedle Dum on the lead and in command for good. Talk About Me (Mickey McNichol) parked out Ultimate Sundance (Bruce Ranger) all while Ross and Tweedle Dum were moving on the outside to take control.

After leading the field to the half mile in :56.4, David Ingraham came first-over in the backstretch with Guy Gets Girl and they were followed on the outside flow by Railee Possible (Wally Hennessey), but they failed to get close to the leaders by the three-quarters in 1:25.3.

In the stretch drive, Ross and Tweedle Dum held the field at bay, winning over Ultimate Sundance by three-quarters of a length with Talk About Me third.

It was the second straight win, sixth victory in last seven starts and the seventh score this year for Tweedle Dum. Diane Norris and Alfred Brotter of Pompano Beach, Fla., own the 6-year-old gelding by Star Challenge who is trained byGordon Norris.

Motorcity Mack, the second longest shot on the tote board at 49-1 odds, scored a narrow head victory over Keep On Rockin and Oxford Bound to win the seventh race $2,500 pace.

Bruce Ranger, who survived a spectacular three-horse accident last Saturday, returned to drive in 9 of the 13 races Wednesday but failed to win any of them.
