Two Jug futures coming up; first starts Aug. 26

Future wagering on the Little Brown Jug will be offered twice leading up to the 65th renewal of the 3-year-old pacing classic at the Delaware, Ohio County Fair.  Each wager will be for a period of four days.

 

Wagers will be accepted at racetracks and pari-mutuel sites throughout North America and Europe. The future wager allows fans to bet early on all 3 year olds. The minimum bet is $2 and all future wagers are win betting only. Every 3-year-old pacer in North America is included in the Jug field because if a colt wins the Cane Pace he can be supplemented into the Jug.

 

There again will be a team of racing analysts and handicappers who will select 23 horses for each pool. The rest of the horses will be packaged together into one “field” wager. Simulcast firector Jason Settlemoir will compile the selections of the panel and establish morning line odds for each of the 23 horses.
