U All BB shattered one of the oldest track records in the books in winning a $22,000 Open Handicap pace for fillies and mares on Friday afternoon at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs. U All BB, the 3-5 favorite with an outside post in a field of 6, left for the early lead with Tim Tetrick in the bike. Despite setting imposing early fractions of 26:2 and 54:3, U All BB was passed on the back stretch by Elusive Prey, who led at the three-quarter pole in 1:21:2. But U All BB, a mare from the Monte Gelrod barn owned by Fred Monteleone Stable LLC of Pompano Beach, FL, fought back in the stretch to win by a half-length over Elusive Prey in 1:49:3. My Perfect Rhyme finished much further back in 3rd. The winning time shattered the Pocono track record for 4-year-old pacing mares of 1:51, which was set back in 1996 by She’s A Great Lady. The mile by U All BB is also the fastest mile by a mare of any age in Pocono history. Sired by Allamerican Ingot out of U Neek BB, U All BB, who had been racing at The Meadowlands, won for the 3rd time in 12 starts this year. It was the 9th victory of her career, pushing her career earnings over $230,000. (Pocono Downs)
