Iron Legend, overlooked at 12-1, scored a 1:53.2 wire-to-wire victory in the $40,000 claiming pace feature at Dover Downs on a chilly Thursday. Track leading driver Tim Tetrick won four races, while George Dennis had a double.

The 28-year-old rookie driver Corey Callahan has stepped up for his father, owner-trainer Nick Callahan and has held his own among the strong driver colony at the track. Callahan, a University of Kentucky graduate, left quickly with Iron Legend and never looked back turning in a 1:53.2 clocking in the open lengths win. Both the horse and driver won for the fifth time. Elm Grove Sam (Roger Plante) closed fast to be second. O'RourkeThree (Tony Morgan) was third. Three of the nine starters were claimed.

On the undercard, owner Rodney Mitchell won two and lost two. His horses in $20,000 claimers, both scored impressive front-end victories and both were claimed. The first winner was Pure Class, with veteran Eddie Davis driving for trainer Kevin McDermott. The 1:54.4 victory was Pure Class's third in four starts. Traider Raider (Tetrick) closed strongly to finish second in front of Village Showoff N (Ross Wolfenden) edging Just Wave Hello for third.

Eddie Davis Jr. drove the winner of the other $20,000 claimer, Quite A Butt, who never trailed in a 1:54.1 conquest for trainer Janet Davis. Quite A Butt won his second straight and third in his last four outings. On The Tee (Wolfenden) finished second with Swing Master (Dennis) third. (Dover Downs)
