The Jimmy Takter-trained Uncle Peter, who tuned up for the Copenhagen Cup with a handy 1:52.1 victory at the Meadowlands Friday night, drew post position 1 for the upcoming Copenhagen Cup. The 2,011-meter race (about 1.25 miles) is contested on the five-eighths mile Charlottenlund track in the Danish capital city. Uncle Peter will be driven by David Miller, who will be making his first appearance in a European race.
Last year’s winner Mr Picolit drew post position number three and the driver Jorma Kontio seemed happy about it. "The post position is great. Almost the best you can get in Copenhagen,” said Kontio, one of Europe's top drivers.
The winner's share of the purse will be approximately $135,000.
