Up Front Palone and Swingbatterbatter won the two $36,404 Standardbred divisions for 2-year-old colt pacers Thursday afternoon at the Delaware, Ohio fairgrounds. Up Front Palone scored in 1:54.4 while Swingbatterbatter cruised to a 1:55.2 clocking, career bests for both freshmen.
Up Front Palone was driven by Ron Pierce. Dragoon K was second with Rusty Tank third. Kelly O'Donnell trains the winner for owner Ed Mullinax. The son of Dragon Again won for the first time in eight starts.
David Miller had Swingbatterbatter in second-over position before tipping three wide and blowing past his rivals to easily win his second race in eight starts. Badlands Jaden was second with Southern Pee Wee third.
A son of Allamerican Ingot, Swingbatterbatter is owned by Tom Crouch and trained by Jim Arledge Jr.
