Upset winners dominated Thursday night at the Meadowlands, boosting the Pick 6 carryover to $35,356 heading into Friday's card. The card featured opening leg divisions of the Junior Trendsetter and Tender Loving Care Series for 3-year-old colt and filly pacers, respectively.

Mcaroni N Cheese returned $35.20 in the opening leg of the Pick 6, one of three $12,500 Junior Trendsetter Series divisions on the card.  Ron Pierce steered the 3-year-old son of Mcardle to a 1:53 victory for trainer Doug Lewis and owners Darrell Dashiell Jr. and Kimberly Dashiell.

The second Junior Trendsetter division went to Scape Ghost and Brian Sears by 4 1/2 lengths in 1:52.4. Kenneth Mitchell trains and co-owns the 3-year-old Artiscape colt with Rodney Mitchell Inc.

Sears also picked up the driving victory in the third Jr. Trendsetter split, winning by a nose with Cole Express in 1:53.1 over Fox Valley Tyrese and Andy Miller. Bruce Saunders trains the 3-year-old Cole Muffler gelding for owners Palumbo-Duff Stable LLc, Levit and Tritini Stable and Melvin Hartman.

The Pick 6 was helped along with the win by O Narutac Bella, another 15-1 shot, who pounced off a third-over trip to win the sixth race, returning $33.70.

Tug River Princess scored a mild upset over even-money favorite Open Book Test in the seventh race, the first of two $12,500 Tender Loving Care divisions for pacing fillies. A 3-year-old daughter of Badlands Hanover, she was driven by John Campbell and is trained by Craig Mc Innis for owners Michael and E. A. Tait, she paid $12.40.

The final race of the evening’s Pick 6 was also the second Tender Loving Care division, which was won by the favorite, Renovation and Tim Tetrick in 1:53.4. Scot Domenico trains the 3-year-old Art’s Conquest filly for owners Jason Wilson and Charles Knipp.

The Pick 6 is a $1 minimum wager and covers races four through nine each night. Post time for Friday night's card is 7 p.m.  The opening round of the Cape and Cutter and Exit 16W series are featured on the track. (With files from the Meadowlands)
