USTA picks Sharbaugh

Return Home
January 25, 2005 Send To A Friend  | Print View

Eric M. Sharbaugh, 47, a vice president of a Pennsylvania information technology firm has been recommended by a search committee to fill the post of executive vice president of the U.S. Trotting Association. Sharbaugh is the son of Richard E. Sharbaugh, a former chief executive of the Pennsylvania Harness Horsemen's Association and the Pennsylvania Harness Racing Commission.

The committee, comprised of directors of the Association recently made its recommendation to the USTA Executive Committee, which subsequently gave its unanimous endorsement. Sharbaugh has accepted the post, but the recommendation of both committees must be ratified by the full Board when it convenes in Columbus on March 19.

Sharbaugh will become the USTA's eighth executive vice president, taking over March 28. He will replace Fred J. Noe, who last year had indicated his intention to retire. Noe will conclude his 12-year tenure with the Association on March 31.
