Vernon Downs was forced to cancel the race card scheduled for Tuesday, May 15, due to a shortage of horses. Vernon hopes that the card Tuesday, May 22, will be able to fill with more horses qualifying each week at Vernon Downs. “This is a tough time right now at Vernon Downs with trying to get enough race ready horses in the box. We are optimistic about the horse situation for next Tuesday as more horses are qualifying each week” said Jason Settlemoir, vice president of racing and simulcast.
