Vernon Downs has announced that its opening day scheduled for Friday has been pushed back to Saturday due to a horse shortage. The track repaid $6 million in loans and was granted a license by the New York State Racing and Wagering Board to open its live meet and race through April 28, when another license would have to be issued to continue.
