Art Stafford's Vicki Gram ($4.40, Art Stafford Jr.) earned her fourth win in six starts this meet at Harrington Raceway in the $21,000 Junior Open Trot Wednesday. The 7-year-old Valley Victor mare left from post four and set fractions of :28.3, :59.1 and 1:28.2. She held off Laser Lavec and Go Nano Go for her fourth win of the year as she increased her seasonal earnings to more than $50,000.
Post eight is normally an undesirable post for horses particularly on a half-mile track, but three post eight winners were successful Wednesday, including the first two races as the 8-8 double paid $232.
Driver Frank Milby earned his 1,000th career win in the 15th race aboard Scott Woogen's Bengali. Milby brushed by pacesetter Winbak Red in the driving rainstorm and overpowered the field for an easy victory.
