Arthur Stafford's Vicki Gram ($7, Art Stafford Jr.) earned her second straight wire-to-wire win Wednesday in the featured $22,000 Junior Open Trot in 1:57.4 at Harrington Raceway. The 7-year-old Valley Victor mare was sent for the lead from post four and set fractions of :28.2, :58.3 and 1:28 as Sugar Valley Alley and favorite Go Sassy Go mounted an attack on the outside. On the final turn, "Alley" backed away and "Sassy" charged three wide but for the second straight week, came up short in her bid from off the pace as Vicki Gram won by a length. Customize finished third. The win pushed Vicki Gram over the $200,000 mark lifetime for owner/trainer Stafford. Driver Victor Kirby won four races on the program. (Harrington)
