Victor Jr. named Rising Star

Return Home
December 28, 2005 Send To A Friend  | Print View

Adam Victor Jr., a 19-year-old student at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Economics, has already shown his business acumen at the highest levels of harness racing, and he has been voted as a Rising Star in the non-trainer/driver category in balloting by the directors of the U.S. Harness Writers Association.

Young Victor is the "Son" in the Adam Victor & Son Stable; his dad Adam Sr. is a designer of builder of power plants, and it was he who started the racing stable. But Adam Jr. showed that he could handle the day-to-day affairs of their 70-horse stable while still in high school, and this year his work has really paid off handsomely.

Start with Mr. Muscleman, the bullyboy older trotter who was the dominant force on the North American free-for-all scene in 2005. Then add My Little Dragon, the undefeated, Breeders Crown-winning two-year-old filly pacer, and also pulling the strings for the leading stable at the Meadowlands (merely the toughest harness track in the world), and you have one impressive resume.

At 19. Who can predict what might come next?

Adam Victor Jr. will be honored at the Night of Stars banquet on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, during the Harness Racing Congress being held that entire week.

For information about advertising in the Night of Stars dinner journal, contact Judy Davis-Wilson at (302) 233-3047. The Journal is this year dedicated to the late Stanley Dancer; anyone wishing to salute Dancer in the book should call Debbie Little at (212) 930-8711.
