Village Jolt now retired

December 02, 2005 Send To A Friend  | Print View

The 2004 Woodrow Wilson and Breeder’s Crown winner Village Jolt p,2,1:51.1; 3,1:50.f-1:52.3h-’05 ($1,634,220) has been retired to enter stud at Fashion Farms in Pennsylvania.

The 3 year old concluded an illustrious career in which he retired as the fastest and richest 2-year-old by Cam's Card Shark. He was also the only horse ever to win the Woodrow Wilson Pace and the Breeders Crown in the same year.

This past season Village Jolt added to his credentials earning another $715,643 by winning the Adios in straight heats, a heat of the Little Brown Jug before finishing second in the final, and a second-place finish in the $1 million Meadowlands Pace final.

“If anyone has not seen this horse they would find a big (16 hands) well-made individual with conformation that no one can fault," said Ed Hart, who trained Village Jolt during the colt's 2-year-old campaign. "On top of that, he had just the best attitude you could want in a race horse in that he gave his all every time.
