Little Brown Jug contender Vintage Master tuned up for the Delaware classic by turning in a 1:54.3 workout in a qualifier at Freehold Raceway Friday morning. Dan Dube, the Western Ideal colt's regular driver, was in the sulky for trainer Jimmy Takter.

Vintage Master won the Cane over Freehold's half-mile oval earlier this month and in August captured the Adios, upsetting Well Said.

Takter has already entered Vintage Master in the Jug, and trainer Steve Elliott also indicated he entered his colt Well Said early as well. The entry box for the Jug closes Saturday morning.
