Vivid Photo lowered the Rosecroft Raceway track record and set a world record for 4-year-old gelding trotters with a 1:54 open-lengths score Monday night in a $15,000 Invitational. With trainer Roger Hammer in the sulky, the 2005 Hambletonian champion raced in the two hole to the halfway mark in :56.3, then took command of the race.
With a comfortable :29.2 final quarter, Vivid Photo erased Duke’s Ranger’s track mark of 1:54.2, a mark set on June 24, 2004. The previous world record for 4-year-old gelding over a five-eighths mile track was 1:54.3 by Giesolo de Lou.
Vivid Photo has now won three of his four starts this season for co-owners Hammer and Todd Schadel.
