Vyingforthecrown, a stakes contender at three, won her 4-year-old debut in a $12,500 condition trot, Thursday night's seventh race at the Meadowlands.

Sent off at odds of 17-1, Vyingforthecrown trotted a lifetime best of 1:55.3, finishing a half-length ahead of Lawman. CR Dream Catcher was third by 2 1/2 lengths.

The daughter of Striking Sahbra, racing for the Jesmeral Stable of Wood Ridge, N.J., posted her third victory in her 19th career start and has earnings of $65,912. Driven by Jim Meittinis, she is trained by Earl Cruise.

Vyingforthecrown competed in several stakes at three. She miscued at the start of the $750,000 Hambletonian Oaks on Aug. 6 at the Meadowlands and finished seventh.
